Sandra Kopitzke

Owner / Director of Music

"I believe talent can't be taught...it is a natural endowment that varies in degrees in every individual.  However, I also believe that all students can be taught skills that will help them achieve more than those who rely on their natural talent alone."

Theatre, singing and teaching children are Sandra Kopitzke’s greatest passions.  She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge both onstage and backstage to each production she’s involved in.

Sandra is a multiple “Aubrey” award-winning actress who has performed in equity and non-equity theaters all over San Diego County.  She has been cast in over 40 lead roles throughout her theater career. Sandra is a classically trained vocalist and continues to be a featured soloist and vocal coach for many local and professional San Diego venues.  She also majored in vocal performance and music education. She has studied drama, along with Musical Theatre Vocal Master classes.

Sandra has been a music director, director and choreographer for both adult and children's productions for over 20 years. She has musically directed over 50 shows. Sandra co-founded the Star Theatre Company’s Academy which offers classes in music, drama, and dance.  Over the last 10 years, she grew the Academy’s show choir program to one that supported over 90 students and performed at over 30 venues in San Diego County every year.  She has also co-directed and choreographed hundreds of students in the Academy’s popular summer musical theatre camps.  Sandra inspires her students, some as young as eight, to study harmony and performance techniques at a level they didn’t know they could achieve.
